Certain containers of LACTAID Milk sold in Connecticut are being recalled due to trace amounts of almonds, according to the Connecticut Department of Public Health on Monday.

The recall applies to a limited number of plastic containers of Lactaid Milk, according to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.

HP Hood, the manufacturer of Lactaid Milk products, along with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), issued a voluntary recall of 96-ounce containers of Lactaid Milk that may contain “trace amounts of almond, which is not listed on the label,” the FDA said in a Sept. 20 announcement.

Five Lactaid products with specific Best By dates have been recalled due to possible nut allergens present, according to a release from the FDA.

HP Hood LLC, the maker of Lactaid Milk, has recalled five SKUs of the beverage because there may be trace amounts of undeclared almonds. If someone has an almond allergy, they could have a life-threatening reaction if they drink the recalled milk, the Food and Drug Administration said.
