World number one Jannik Sinner continued his perfect start at the ATP Finals with a dominant win over Russian Daniil Medvedev. Playing on home soil in Turin, Sinner won 6-3 6-4 to top the Ilie Nastase group with three wins from three.

TURIN (Reuters) -Italian world number one Jannik Sinner eased past Daniil Medvedev 6-3 6-4 in their final group match on Thursday, leaving Taylor Fritz to seal a place in the semi-finals of the season-ending ATP Finals after the American defeated Alex de Minaur 5-7 6-4 6-3.

Taylor Fritz, the U.S. Open finalist who lost to Sinner in New York, was also drawn in the Italian’s group alongside Australian Alex De Minaur, making his ATP Tour Finals debut; Casper Ruud and Andrey Rublev, who qualified as world No. 9 after Novak Djokovic withdrew, rounded out the second group.

Taylor Fritz finished the round-robin stage at the ATP Finals in Turin with a 2-1 score. The American faced Alex de Minaur in the final group match and scored a 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 victory in two hours and eight minutes. Fritz is now waiting for tonight's match between Jannik Sinner and Daniil Medvedev to see if he will qualify for the semi-final.

Still plenty to play for in group Ilie Nastase, although the scenarios where Jannik Sinner doesn’t make the semifinals or Alex de Minaur does are mostly theoretical.
