Kathmandu: Nepal, which is reeling under widespread floods and landslides due to heavy rainfall over the past few weeks, is expected to witness heavy rainfall on Thursday as well. The rain-related incidents have claimed more than 240 people dead across the Himalayan nation so far.

Flooding caused by continuous rainfall has killed at least 32 people in Nepal’s capital and another 12 are missing.

Rescue, recovery, and clean-up efforts continued on Sunday, as the rains relented on Sunday, but the number of dead could rise, as reports come in from villages across the mountainous country, and dozens are reported missing.

At least 193 people have been confirmed dead following severe flooding and landslides in Nepal, where heavy weekend rainfall was reported.

The warning came after the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology flagged potential risks of further downpours in parts of the two provinces.
