SunitaWilliams marked her 59th birthday aboard the ISS on September 19. She dedicated her day to vital maintenance tasks and scientific research on the orbiting lab. Along with fellow astronaut Don Pettit, she worked on maintaining life support systems on the ISS.

With her return to Earth still months away, Williams dedicated her special day to maintaining the orbiting laboratory, located 400 km above the planet. She worked alongside fellow NASA astronaut Donald “Don” Pettit on vital tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the space station.
