Flames head coach Ryan Huska wants Anthony Mantha to “shoot almost 300 pucks.” It’s a lofty goal, but one the veteran forward is embracing after joining the Flames this off-season on a one-year, “show-me contract.

There’s some discrepancy on the exact target, but the objective is clear. During his first scrum with the local media, Calgary Flames free-agent acquisition Anthony Mantha mentioned that his new boss wants him to rack up nearly 300 shots on net this season.

The 2024-25 preseason schedule kicks off tonight when the Flames visit the Pacific rival Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena. This is the first of eight games on the exhibition slate, with CalgaryFlames.com and the Flames app set to carry the action LIVE beginning at 8 p.m. MT.

It was Day 4 of Kraken training camp under a new coach, and it looked every bit of it in a dysfunctional 6-1 preseason loss to the Flames on Sunday evening at Climate Pledge Arena.
