Ven, is a Swedish island in the Öresund strait laying between Skåne, Sweden and Zealand, Denmark. During the 1930s, the population was at its peak, with approximately 1,300 inhabitants. There are four villages on the island: Bäckviken, Tuna By, Norreborg and Kyrkbacken. The island is best known as the location of Danish Renaissance astronomer Tycho Brahe's observatories Uraniborg and Stjerneborg.
